Mirror Time leads to guaranteed healing

Look in the mirror and admire your reflection.

Give yourself a compliment out loud and then take a minute to think about it.

IF you can be direct with yourself then go straight to the concerns you’re having (outlook on the day, struggling with bad habits, Missing/ hurting from loss of someone). Remind yourself that these things you're suffering with are not the whole of your life, they are a part of your life, and you are willing to get past them.

Repeat this statement until it feels like it's sunk into your mind and heart. Believing in the words you speak to yourself is vital, especially with positive talk, or affirmations.

Affirmations-(n.) Emotional support or encouragement.

Repeat this exercise whenever you feel the need or have the time. With repetition and practice you’ll be able to complete this exercise without a mirror while envisioning yourself in your mind.

So, when it comes to Mirror Time remember to:

Grab a mirror

Compliment what you see

Think about what you're struggling with at the moment

Remind yourself that you are stronger than what you go through, the answers will come

Repeat daily!

*Pro level* No mirror, personal image in mind and not distracted but aware of your surroundings.

Prayer Time Heals the Soul

If you are a Spiritual/ religious person like I am, you have a Higher Power that guides you through the trials and tribulations we go through day to day. Use them! Whatever your concern, speak them from your heart into your believing space. Talk quietly within that space and release what is on your mind and heart. Don't worry about saying it just right or offending your higher power just get off your chest what is weighing you down and causing you pain. Once said, or confessed as religions say, let it go. Do not harp on the problem anymore.

Rumination can keep us in a cycle of thinking about what's already been handled by our Higher Power and slowing us down. Like a computer that has too much stuff on it our minds need to be purged from time to time to clear up space.

Rumination(n.)- Overthinking. A deep or considered thought about something, usually to the point of worry or near obsession.

So, when it comes to Prayer Time

As you address your Most High (Buddha, God, Jesus Christ, Universe, etc.)

Separate yourself from distractions

Get in touch with your feelings, breathing, body

Speak from your heart/mind the concerns you have

Let go! Believe that the answers will be provided in time, you will have the resources to do your part.

Family Time Heals the Heart

Family is what you make it! So this can include friends or non-blood family as well. Think of the community you gather around you as you do what you do on the daily. In that group there should be a few listening ears that are willing to be there for you (if not please get a new circle ASAPeriod!) Confide in those you trust and expect not to judge or gossip about what you tell them. Allow them to hear your concerns, frustrations, anger and/or pain.

*Tip* [decide Beforehand] If you just want them to listen or give feedback on what you’re saying and express this to them before you speak (especially if they are a patient listener but are too self-centered to give you advice).

After you’ve spoken about what's on your mind you should feel better and/or have more questions. More questions just mean there are more pieces to the puzzle that need to be found. Seek them. Maybe with that person, maybe not. Use your intuition to decide what to do.

Intuition(n.)-Gut feelings that give you a sense that something is or is not accurate, truthful or safe.

So, when it comes to Family Time

Everyone is not worthy of your vulnerability so choose who you speak with carefully

Decide if they are an ear only or you want advice.

Gauge how you feel throughout the conversation. What are your emotions saying?

Do your best to keep the conversation specific, not broad (too much at once is not easily handled by a lot of people)

Thank your listener for their time. Offer to listen to their concerns or repay them in some way; Don't overextend yourself and make another issue though!

Writing Time exposes all of us

If you are creative and struggle to grasp the thought of speaking to family, praying or talking to yourself in the mirror, try writing. Writing has been an emotional release for ages and is at the top of my list even though I feel comfortable with talking to family, praying (meditation) and self-reflection work. Writing has become one of my first daily activities, sometimes coming before prayer. If there's something on my mind heavily as soon as I wake up, I write, then I can get on with my day. Not only does writing clear your mind but you can physically SEE the words you were thinking. By releasing them onto paper you can make the choice to read them back to yourself right then or come back after time and take in those thoughts again from another perspective (this time you're listening to what the words are saying). Do you still relate? Does it make sense to still feel this way? There have been several journal entries I've gone back to read and cannot complete because the voice is so disjointed and not me- then and there I decide that’s not what I want to believe anymore, and that entry is there as a reminder.

Disjointed(adj)- Lacking a connection that makes sense or feels adequate.

There are numerous ways to use writing to ground you in your true feelings and I'll go into detail with those in another blog but for now try daily journaling to express yourself and see where you are that day.

Expectation

how to navigate the change to improvement

If you honestly want things to change and commit to one or more of the above techniques, be prepared for the shift in your life. Be ready for your intuition to have something to say about the old way you dealt with problems and the new way you look at them. Don’t expect overnight success. Remain consistent in the self-realization process. When we learn something new, or even when we remember something we’ve learned before that we seemingly “forgot”, neurons in our brain fire and make new connections (In other words that “oh yeah” feeling). We exercise our mind by thinking new thoughts. Just because we take a thought in and think about it does not mean we have to believe it. We have a choice to decide if that thought makes sense to us on any level of our understanding- Some things just hit differently.

Whatever you do, be prepared that closed minds, ignorant thoughts and envious energy will attempt to draw you away from what helps and heals you! RESIST AND KEEP PRACTICING. It's easy to get sucked back into the “leave things how they are mindset” but if you're constantly unhappy about who you are, what you have going on around you and how your life is going then commit to trying to change and not just complain. You do better devoting your energy to changing your own outlook than changing others.

I'm Praying/Meditation/Writing for all of us on our journeys.

-You're not alone.

Believe in you when no one else does!
