This week's Meditation
Checking In
If you've already tuned into this week's meditation, then you already know that this meditation was created with a different listener in mind than last week's Reclaiming Your Potential 15minute Guided Meditation
This week's focus is yet again still on grounding with the exception that Gentle Grounding with Choice and Agency; a T-I practice is geared towards those of us that have trauma in our past and require a bit more freedom in how we move our body and activate our senses. The meditation is written to be concise- meaning valuable and compact to take up as little or as much of the day is needed for the subscriber's palette.
The gentle approach focuses on the comfort of the subscriber, softer guidance without the need for constant extrasensory perception and most importantly, safety of the listener as they walk through a self-directed journey through their current phase.
This blog, and the meditations themselves, are part of a Four-week Course that guide the listener through 4 distinct stages of meditation. Briefly, here are those stages:
Stage: One
Focus: Stabilization and gentle grounding
Stage: Two
Focus: Self-Compassion and Non-judgmental approaches
Stage: Three
Focus: Gentle Interpersonal Awareness
Stage: Four
Integration and Moving Foward with Agency
✨4-week Goal: BUILD EFFECTIVE MEDITATION PRACTICE ✨
Each meditation is intended to be used for the full duration of a week (7days) before moving on to the next step to ensure that the concepts are understood and feel natural and more importantly, consistent with the desired result. As with any plan the goal outcome is an identified checkpoint and therefore important to remember and work towards!
Okay, now that we have the basics covered, let's talk Gentle Grounding

What is Grounding anyway?
Grounding basically means finding your anchor point, like your breath or body's connection to the seat you're sitting in to make sure you keep contact with the awareness of the now moment. This is super important for Trauma-Informed dialog, and we make sure to stress that with the inclusion of a disclaimer at the beginning of each T-I, or trauma Informed guided meditation. Whether performing any of the meditations of this program/offering or any other- be sure to consult your physician if you have known adverse reactions to any of the concepts written or included with our recording or copy (our writings like this blog!)
Grounding: A List of what it is
Techniques that make you feel physically and emotionally stable.
Encouraging mindful awareness of the present moment without pressure.
Method(s) of connection for the body and surroundings, promoting calmness.
Step one of any meditation or self-discovery based program
The remainder of the program steps are outlined HERE to keep this article short and sweet. let's keep going with grounding!
Before we are able to achieve deep, satisfactory work, grounding, for us here in the T-I program gentle grounding, must be introduced. The ability for you to self-regulate (feel safe) and choose the practice that keeps you feeling safe is vital and foundational!
If you feel any discomfort with the following techniques- it is likely due to an activation within you that triggers uncomfortable thoughts.
These thoughts cannot hurt you, but they can be unsettling so feel free to stop the practice for the day, readjust or speak to a professional.
Closing the eyes
Deep focusing on the breath
Body scans/Internal Focus
Silence/Extended Pauses
These potential stressors you will notice are prefaced in the meditation with options that allow for Choice.
